Hooray! It’s that time of the year again. Dig out your favorite brush, nib, marker, or pen and dust if off. We’re talking of course about Jake Parker’s InkTober Initiative. The special time of year where artists from all over the globe push themselves to experiment with ink. We love it, you love it.
We’ve been kicking around the idea of a side project for months with our friends over at Crystal Fish Games. A project we could experiment with. One that’s enjoyable, challenging, and experimental. Knowing we’d already be participating in InkTober we pitched: let’s try to capture the spirit of InkTober, inject a dose of interactivity, and see what happens. What does a game entirely in ink, drawn and animated on paper look like?
let’s try to capture the spirit of InkTober, inject a dose of interactivity, and see what happens.
We’re calling it Luminky, and will be posting about it here on the blog every Monday and Thursday all InkTober long. Witness our struggles, explorations, and hopefully, a few triumphs as we hurtle towards October 31st. On that day we’ll, *cross fingers*, release a playable level for all to enjoy free of charge.
Don’t forget to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and track our daily progress on Instagram! Oh, and if you’d like to see what’s happening on the development side of things make sure to follow Crystal Fish Games to check out their process.
